We are so excited to surprise our girls with a puppy from Santa!! Christmas morning, there will be a note left under the tree from Santa saying that there is one more special gift that just could NOT go on the sleigh with him. Heh. So, we are to all go to the airport the next day where one of Santa's helpers (aka Rachel!!!) will be waiting for us. The note won't say anything about if we are flying somewhere or picking something up. The girls won't have a clue. :D Thank you, Rachel, for helping m…

Well it is litterally any day now. The girls are hanging very close to me and whine if they cannot see me.
Keep good thoughts for easy deliveries and healthy moms and pups.
We still have some room for new great families if you know of anyone looking.

Well Abby was a big surprise. She had started acting strange so took her to the vet with Gypsy for an Ultrasound Check up. Looks like when Gypsy and I were in Ohio, Gunnar was "getting busy" with Abby. Tim swears he saw nothing.. Ok Sargent Schultz! My vet assures me not to be concerned as she is very healthy and in the repro world they suggest giant breeds be bred back to back and then rested a season- so here we go again. Looks like we are in for a bumper crop of puppies from both girls. As Dr…

So guess who's staying at my house temporarily (maybe)?

That is Casey, a 2 and a half year old Leo that was up on Craig's List (excuse the background, it's my basement where the computer is). The poor girl was bought from a pet store *boo hiss* at 4 months old. By the time she was 1 sh…

Sadie has become very well known around the girls fastpitch softball circuit! People remember her from weekend to weekend and she is definitely a show stopper. I am just going to start wearing a t-shirt saying: She's a Leonberger!!
This past weekend Sadie met Thor (Stoney Creek Kennels) who was the first Leo I ever laid eyes on. He was 12weeks old when we met and now he is 10 months, 110lbs. and still growing. He was totally enamored with Sadie!

How does time fly so fast? It has been a hard week. A dear friend of mine who actually is on this site, passed away Tuesday. Melisse was my age 54. The service was yesterday and my head has just been reeling.
A few of you have heard of Melisse, her son Andy and their two Leos, Willow and Tanner (tan from my B litter). Melisse and Andy were my weekend warriors. Coming every weekend to help wash puppies and play to socialize or just to play ( c : with them all. Melisse was the type of person that…

Going great with Charlie in Florida. Yes, we all have our battle wounds and scars to show we have a puppy, just try to keep doggie toys everywhere for self protection. Keep his BIG water bowl outside for playing and drinking in. Goes through 2 wild times everyday, after breakfast and after dinner, with lots of napping in between. Weighed 38 lbs on Monday, but really see his appetite increasing! He loved his beach outings last weekend, and look forward to letting him swim in our pool - after bein…

Raine went to the vet Friday. She is 42 1/2 pounds of love, fluff and teeth! My sweet little (?) girl did not want Dr. Jeff to look in her mouth! Bad Mommy! We are working on that. Aside from a very occasional oops where a not so small lake erupts under her, Raine is pretty much got potty outside down. She has decided that if the other Leos won't play with her, beating Tim or myself with one of her toys will have to do. She is very, very vocal.. takes after her mom Abby who has no problem tellin…

Yesterday was a busy day. I had carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand, came home and got Charlie ( Mr Black from C litter) ready to meet his new forever family. They were smiling and in awe of his size and great personality for such a young puppy. Can't thank everyone enough who had a hand in socializing the babies. And a huge thanks to all of our puppy families who make it such a positive experience. I wouldn't be breeding if there weren't families like you out there.
As you might know or may…

Tomorrow Charlie goes home. Can't tell you how hard it is going to be to see him go. He is very talkative. He and Raine are like two little peas in a pod. Doing some cleaning before surgery tomorrow.
Will post pictures of them over the weekend as I will have all of the ones where they left with their families.

Wow! time flies with 15 puppies biting your ankles. It has been a whirlwind 9+ weeks. Can't quite believe that Charlie will go home on Friday and all puppies will be in their new forever homes. It has been wonderful meeting new people and adding them to our growing Leonberger family. How can anyone get so lucky as to find such good, loving homes for these amazing Leonbergers. I am hoping our newest family members will join us here and that we will hear more from everyone.
We were very blessed to…

Ok, somebody say something or I will think I am writing to myself!
This evening it is quiet in my house. What relief. Can't wait to just sit and do nothing for an hour or two.
the next 28 days are going to drag as I wait to find out if pups are on the way. Please cross fingers and paws!

Well, we are one week into prime breeding time and my intact male Gunnar is alternatly crying and barking. He has lost weight and is driving me crazy. I cannot wait for this to be over and things back to normal. The girls and Chewy are all laying around me as if they too are tired of the racket. will be sending out reminders to those who have expressed an interest in our C and D litters but have not as yet put down a deposit. In the mean time, we need a litter name and baby names starting with C…

Hello everyone,
We have had two breeding over the last two days. Gypsy and Tanner finally made a love connection today.
Abby and Ekkyo had their tryst yesterday. We will know in 28 days if the breedings have been successful.
We have several reservations and inquries about puppies. As you know we really want special, loving homes that will make one of our Heart N Soul babies part of the family.
Hope all are well. Give all the grandpups a big hug and kiss from Grandma Rachel!

ThIe B litter is one year old today. It has been a wonderful year full of hopes, dreams and plans. We couldn't have done this alone. It takes so much work and really wonderful, talented people( of which I am not!) Yes, we work with our Leos and have cute fuzzy puppies, but people have to KNOW you are here. Thanks so much to my friends and webmasters of my first and this website. "E" jumped in a put a great website together in almost no time to share the news of our first litter. She is a wonderf…
